About
Our story started in the year of 2012. Thanks to a friend who also started following a comic artist course in another city, Isabel also wanted to go on this wicked journey so she searched and found this course in a city nearby (Hasselt). Isabel was still working as a graphic designer creating posters, flyers, designing packaging etc, but her life was missing that great adventure and beautiful colors. Isabel started the course and the idea of a large Story was growing. While working on our graduation project for the course we had to come up with all sorts of ideas/stories, and one of them included a story about a small fairy, a cute small white fairy, lost in the woods, all by herself. Meeting a character Chi ( which was allready developed) and they would go on a journey to find the memories of this fairy. This idea and many other ideas were easily thrown away but then I saw a very simple thing in the design of the fairy. added markings, changed to black .. white and Yin and Yang were born. and the story as we know it now was also born.
The Quest of Yin will be told in 12-13books, from short to big, depending on what needs to be told for each seperated part. each book will contain a Zodiac sign.
Storyline
A small girl goes on a journey to find her other half to save the world from destruction. She goes on her quest with her new companions who will lead her trough an unknown world. To succeed in this quest she will have to face many difficult obstacles and she will learn to grow from girl to woman. Time is against them so they must all work together to succeed.
Main Characters
YinMain Character
Yin is the main character of the story. She is sent to the Outer World to find Yang, her other half, and save the world from destruction. There, she will learn all sorts of new things: the joy of eating food, experience emotions both the good and the bad. Luckily she gets help from her new friends Chi and Taka and their companions.
Chimixed breed, spirit controller + human
16 year old
Chi is girl born in a nomad tribe who travel across the dry plains. One day she was left behind by her own group. They thought she didn't belong with them and being an orphan, she was a bother to everyone. Not knowing where to go Chi dwelled the dry lands and the forbidden forest for weeks/months before she was caught by Worgels. While trying to escape the worgels she was forced to enter a dark cave. There she meets a cute little Spirit monster and together they combine their powers to defeat the Worgels and a large Shadow Spirit which was living deep in the caves. Chi is still looking for her old tribe to prove she is worthy enough to be a part of them.
OriSpirit monster
Ori, the spirit creature of Chi is one of the legendary Light Dragons. Once there were many, living in harmony in the sky islands but the past Big War made the sky islands disappear and so did their homes. The Light Dragons were forced to move to the lands below and were scattered all over the world due to this. The existence of only a few are known and so they are believed to be rare. Because the black market pays high a price for a Light Dragon, Worgels will always come after Ori and Chi.
TakaMixed Breed, spirit controller + werecat
16 year old.
Taka is a young guy who left home in search for an adventure. He first saw Chi when he stopped by a town and ever since he has always lured in the shadows, watching over her. Will he find an opportunity to get closer to her? Not only does he have a Spirit creature called Aeris, he can also transform into a Werecat.
AerisSpirit monster
Aeris is a cute fluffy bird, the Spirit monster of Taka. Both of them have been together since birth and their bond is very strong. Don't be deceived by his cuteness, once their powers fuse, this little one is no longer little, but a huge bird that you can ride on and enjoy the beautiful scenes all around you!
WorgelsOur best buddies throughout the entire story! Evil, rotten and never to be trusted! They 'd do anything to satisfy themselves, luckily they're not very cunning.

My short comic was created for my graduation project and in the end it was also published in an online magazine Strike. Now after a year I also will put it online available for all people to look and enjoy.
